FAQ
How long does it take before I receive my Danish health card?
It usually takes a 4-5 weeks from the time you register with the municipality until you receive your Danish health card (sundhedskort) by post.
Is it true that visits to the doctor and examinations are free in Denmark if I have a Danish health card?
Yes. Once you have your Danish health card, visits to the general practitioner and most routine examinations are free of charge.
What about medication?
Prescription medicine is not free. However, the Danish healthcare system offers a subsidy scheme, so the more medication you need within a year, the higher the reimbursement you receive.
How do I book an appointment with the doctor?
You can book an appointment by calling our clinic during opening hours. You are also welcome to come by the clinic on weekdays between 8:00–12:00 and 13:00–16:00.
