Scans you can book
- Early scan from week 5+0 — confirms the pregnancy, heartbeat and due date; with or without a midwife consultation
- Gender scan from week 14+0 — with a printed picture and a “boy or girl” card
- Reassurance scan from week 14+0 — heartbeat, growth and position, with or without a midwife consultation

NIPT — non-invasive prenatal test
NIPT is a blood test from week 10 that screens for the most common chromosomal conditions (trisomy 21, 18 and 13) and, depending on the package, sex chromosome conditions and microdeletions. It carries no risk to the pregnancy. Results are usually ready within about a week and are explained to you by a midwife. Packages: NIPT Basic, Standard, Plus and Pro, and twin versions.
You need to be at least 10 weeks pregnant; a dating scan can be done at the same visit if you are unsure of your dates.

Your visit
Scans take 20–40 minutes. Partners and children are welcome. NIPT is a simple blood sample — the scan and sample are done in the same visit.
Results and pictures
You leave with pictures from the scan; NIPT results are sent securely and explained to you by a midwife.
Price and payment
Scans and NIPT are provided and priced by Praksisjordemoder, the midwife clinic in the same building — the exact price for each scan and NIPT package is shown in the booking before you confirm. You pay by card in the clinic after your visit. Many international health insurance policies reimburse pregnancy scans; you receive an itemised receipt.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral?
No. All scans and the NIPT test can be booked directly, without a referral or a Danish CPR number.
Is the scan safe?
Yes. Ultrasound has been used in pregnancy for decades with no known harmful effects. The scans are performed by midwives with postgraduate training in obstetric ultrasound.
Can I bring my partner or family?
Yes — partners, family and children are welcome at the scan.
What if something is found on the scan?
The midwife explains what has been seen and helps you with the next steps, including a referral note for your own doctor or hospital at home or in Denmark.
