Airlines ask for a fit-to-fly certificate after recent illness, surgery or late in pregnancy — and without one, check-in staff can refuse boarding. A Danish doctor can examine you and issue the certificate in English the same day, DKK 1,000 all included.

When airlines ask for it
- Recent illness or injury — infections, fractures, anything that raised a flag at rebooking.
- After surgery or hospital admission — airlines often want confirmation you are safe at altitude.
- Pregnancy — most airlines require a certificate from around week 28, and stop carriage a few weeks before term. Rules differ by airline, so check yours — we state gestational age, due date and fitness to fly.
- “Not fit to fly” — the opposite case: documentation for your insurer that you could NOT travel, so you can claim the rebooking.
What the certificate contains
Your identity, the date of examination, the doctor’s findings and the explicit statement airlines want: that you are (or are not) fit to fly, with dates. Issued in English, signed and stamped by a specialist in general medicine. Most airlines and insurers accept it as-is; if your airline has its own form, bring it and we fill that in instead.
How fast can it go?
Book online, come to the clinic on Strøget, and the certificate is written during the consultation. Flying out of Copenhagen Airport the same evening is usually realistic if you book a morning or midday slot.
